What Southmayd Requires for a Storage Building
A storage building on skids, or one of 120 square feet or less, needs a city permit under a 2012 ordinance, and shipping containers are barred as storage buildings outside certain zones. A rented unit needs no city permit. Our lot at 311 E Sears St in Denison is about 21 miles away by TX 56 and US 75, so compare a rented unit with the building before you buy one.

Residents may hold three garage sales in any 12 months, each up to three days in a row, under an ordinance from 2000. A written statement goes to the city secretary at least 48 hours before the sale, with a $5 registration fee. Up to three city residents may combine their things at one sale.
